Let us pray that our Lenten celebration may open our hearts to hear God’s call to be reconciled with Him, to fix our gaze on the Paschal Mystery, and to be converted through an open and sincere dialogue with Him. In this way, we will become what Christ asks His disciples to be: the salt of the earth and the light of the world (cf. Mt 5:13-14).
Most Holy,
Let us pray that our Lenten celebration may open our hearts to hear God’s call to be reconciled with Him, to fix our gaze on the Paschal Mystery, and to be converted through an open and sincere dialogue with Him. In this way, we will become what Christ asks His disciples to be: the salt of the earth and the light of the world (cf. Mt 5:13-14).
In these days, Pope Francis has also shared a very personal and tender moment with us. He spoke about saying goodbye to his beloved dog, a companion who offered him simple and faithful love. In his words, he reminded us that all of creation is a gift, and even in sorrow, we are called to gratitude and trust in God’s promise of renewal and life. Just as we entrust our loved ones to God’s care, we are invited to trust Him with all the moments of loss and hope in our lives.
May this Lent be a time when, even in our sorrows and goodbyes, we remain anchored in the joy of God’s everlasting love.
Francis
