Justin Drew Bieber (born March 1, 1994) is a Canadian singer known for his genre-blending musicianship and significant influence on modern popular music. He was discovered by American record executive Scooter Braun and signed to RBMG Records in 2008. Bieber rose to fame with the release of his debut seven-track EP, My World (2009), quickly becoming a teen idol.
His breakout single became one of the best-selling songs of all time in the United States. His second studio album, Under the Mistletoe (2011), made history as the first Christmas album by a male artist to debut at number one on the U.S. charts.

In 2015, Bieber collaborated with Jack Ü on the EDM track “Where Are Ü Now,” which won the Grammy Award for Best Dance/Electronic Recording. The song marked a turning point in his musical style and heavily influenced his fourth studio album, Purpose. The album produced three U.S. number-one singles: “Love Yourself,” “Sorry,” and “What Do You Mean?”
He made chart history by becoming the first artist to occupy the entire top three positions of the UK Singles Chart simultaneously. Between 2016 and 2017, Bieber expanded his musical repertoire through a series of high-profile collaborations, including “I’m the One” and the remix of “Despacito”—both of which reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 just a week apart. This achievement made him the first artist ever to debut new number-one songs in consecutive weeks.
